I knit these mittens last year for my niece. Her sister got a red pair. I just found this photo on my phone. I thought I'd sent them off without taking a picture first. Not bad for my first mittens, eh?
This is a place for me to ramble about my crochet, knit and cross-stitch projects, my art journals and every day life. Have a seat!

Wish list
This is the living room set I want. It's made of microfiber that stands up great to wear and tear, and looks like leather, but won't stick to your legs. Maybe with our income tax return....
Trying something new
As you can see by the date of my last post, blogging has been too much of a hassle. So, I just discovered I can send blog posts from my email account or my mobile phone. (supposedly) I'm having trouble setting up the phone, but will try again later. This post is being sent from my email. I'll attach a random photo to see how well it works. Here goes...

Remember me?
When it's been so long since I've blogged that I can't remember the pass-word to sign in....well that's just wrong. Really, I'll try harder to blog more often in 2011.
I did finish the cactus cross-stitch project I last wrote about. It is framed and wrapped for a special person for Christmas. :) I've also finished 2 pair of knitted mittens and will finish a hat today for my last gift I need. Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the cross-stitch and the mittens. I'll get photos after the gifts are open and post them here.
I wish you all a very special Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!!

Cross-stitchin' again!
I go through stages with my hobbies. I seem to get fired up about one craft at a time. I had been on a knit kick for the past year or so. I woke up a couple weeks ago thinking about counted cross-stitch for the first time in years. My youngest is 5 1/2. I think I tried to cross-stitch once when she was a baby. Having to set it aside every couple stitches to tend to her kind of put me off.
Anyway, now that she's older, I pulled out a WIP and saw that it was almost finished. I excitedly started stitching again. Now all that's left is the back-stitching. I don't hate that part like so many other stitchers. It really brings the work to life, and it goes much quicker than the cross-stitching.

Here is a picture of the project:
The second photo is from the book. It was hard to get a good picture w/o glare.
I ordered my next project online, but made myself finish stitching the cactus project before starting the new one. Here it is:
Then, like any newly re-obsessed stitcher, I looked through my stash and dug out another WIP.
So now I have three projects going and am thinking about all the Christmas ornaments I want to make. So, I've set aside a billion knit projects and started a list of stitching projects. Here we go again!
